  • ACCOMMODATION

    International students have a variety of options to meet their housing needs throughout their educational life in Turkey. Students can stay in university dormitories on campus, in state dormitories located in various parts of the city, in private dormitories, or in apartments rented in the city.

    State Dormitories and University Dormitories

    All state dormitories in Turkey and almost all university dormitories are separate for male and female students. Although the number of students staying in rooms is variable, fare rates can often increase or decrease depending on the number of people staying in the room.

    The dormitories have wired/wireless internet service that is accessible to all students. Some dormitories have their own cafeteria, where breakfast and dinner are usually served. Common areas such as television room, study room, kitchen are also open to students.

    Monthly fees for state-run dormitories range from 168 TL to 285 TL for 2019. The fees for the university dormitories vary from university to university and according to the physical characteristics of the accommodation room.     Private Dormitories

    It is possible to find private dormitories around most university campuses. The facilities offered by private dormitories are mostly more than state dormitories. But in return its fees are also higher. Private dormitories offer bed and breakfast or half-board accommodation in rooms for 1,2,3 and 4 people. Students also benefit from areas such as study rooms, laundry facilities, cafeteria, dining hall, gym and movie theater.

    Renting a House

    Another way of accommodation for international students is to rent a house. In Turkey, which is developing rapidly in terms of housing quality and number, you will have a lot of rental housing options. Prices vary from city to city, depending on the location and features of the house. But you can be sure you can find a home that fits your budget.

    Houses in Turkey are usually apartment buildings. These apartments have a large lounge as living space and rooms between 1-4 as branches of the lounge. You can also get a studio apartment where you can stay alone, a big house where you can stay with other friends and split the costs. The majority of houses have balconies. The kitchen is located as a separate section of the house. Heating of houses is provided by central system or flat-specific combi boiler.     IMMIGRATION

    International students are allowed to work up to 24 hours per week while studying in Turkey.

    Thanks to its cultural heritage and rising work-force needs, Turkey follows a receiving immigration policy. With these policies, foreign people have higher chance for immigration comparing with other countiries.

    Turkey offers high-quality education options with very low tuition fees compared to many countries. Compared to similar-quality universities in Europe or America, the fees are quite affordable. The lower and upper limits of the contributions to be received from international students are determined by the state and the certaiın amounts are left to the initiative of the universities.

    The fees are very appropriate according to the quality of education next to many opportunities to receive scholarships. Students have a chance to earn accommodation and food scholarships in addition to education scholarship rates ranging from 20% to 100% at Foundation Universities.

    Turkish Government also awards thousands of merit-based full scholarship with “Turkey Scholarships” (Türkiye Bursları). Turkey Scholorship Program is giving scholorship to foreign student since 1960 via YTB (Presidency for Turks Abroad and Related Communities) which is a goverment institude for especially this service.

    Tuition fees are paid at the beginning of each semester prior to course registration. Each academic year consists of two semesters.

    The student has the opportunity to receive a scholarship after entering the university according to his / her academic achievement in foundation universities.
